Planned Power and Steam Outages, December 22-27, 2022

Facilities Management will be conducting annual maintenance and repairs to critical
infrastructure on campus, requiring multiple utility outages which will affect several
University facilities on different dates over the winter break.
During these outages, no one will be allowed to enter any affected buildings
without authorization from UTD Police.
Anyone with equipment in these buildings should take the necessary precautions to ensure
it will not be affected during the shutdown. Please make sure that all computers and any
sensitive equipment are turned off to prevent the loss of critical information.

Road Closures Near Athenaeum Construction Site Begin Nov 19
November 17, 2022
A portion of Loop Road north and east of the construction site for the Edith and Peter O’ Donnell Jr. Athenaeum is expected to be closed on November 19 and 20. A portion of Armstrong Drive to the east of the construction site is expected to be closed from November 19-23. During this time, a detour through Lot M East will be available for northbound traffic on Armstrong Drive.
As always, these dates are subject to the weather.
Planned Power Outage at Parking Structure 1 on Nov 17
November 16, 2022
Parking Structure 1 will undergo a planned power outage on Thursday, November 17. Emergency lighting will be on, and the parking meters will be available on battery power, but elevators will be out of service until the power is restored. Parking rules will still be enforced. The power is anticipated to be reinstated by mid-afternoon. Please use caution with parking or walking in the garage.
Sidewalk Closure and Two-Way Traffic Near Athenaeum Construction Site
September 30, 2022
The East sidewalk leading from the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM) to Loop Road
(shown in red) will be closed from October 3-12.
A portion of Armstrong Drive from Loop Road to the South entrance of Lot M East (shown in yellow)
will be temporally open to two-way traffic from October 3 to November 28.
Please drive with caution.
As always, these dates are subject to the weather.
Portions of Lot M East will continue to be opened and
closed intermittently during the construction of the Athenaeum Arts and Performance Center.
Alternate parking for students, faculty and staff is available nearby in Lot J, Lot Q and
Parking Structure 1 (PS1).
Alternate metered parking is available in Lot F and
Parking Structure 1 (PS1).
UPDATE: Temporary Parking Lot M South Now Open
August 31, 2022
UPDATE (August 31, 2022)
Temporary parking Lot M South is now open, and is located just
south of Lot M East. Lot M South adds
nearly 400 spaces to the south side of campus, and contains Orange, Gold, and
Green parking.
Temporary Parking Lot Coming Late August (July 18, 2022)
A temporary 300-space parking lot will be built just south of Lot M East. The new lot should be in service
by late August.
Occupied Parking Spots Until Mid-August
July 18, 2022
A few parking spots in Lot H will be used to store roofing materials for a project
on the roof of Classroom Building 3 (CB3). The project is expected to be completed
by mid August.
Armstrong Drive Closure, July 18-24
July 18, 2022
Armstrong Drive will be closed July 18-24 to allow for crews to bring across
utilities for the new Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum Arts and
Performance Center.
Westbound Franklyn Jenifer Drive Closure, July 18-21
July 18, 2022
Westbound Franklyn Jenifer Drive will be closed from July 18-21 while two windows
on the south side of Engineering and Computer Science West (ECSW) are replaced.
Steam Outage, Aug 5-11
July 15, 2022
A steam outage is scheduled for August 5-11 so critical preventive maintenance
can be performed on the University’s heating systems. Air conditioning will not
be affected. The outage will impact the following campus facilities:
